The new Long Range is officially open for member use.
This event is to allow members to qualify to use the Long Range.
If you plan to attend, please be there promptly for a review of the long range rules followed by live shooting qualifications. Once live qualification shooting begins, anyone arriving late will not be permitted to qualify.
- Qualifying Requirements
- Must confirm zero on 100yd target board. (3 shot group)
- Must impact a 2.5 MOA Steel target at 400 yds then 600 yds with 3 of 5 rounds minimum per target.
- Assessor may coach shooter on wind and misses
- If shooter fails to qualify, the assessor may recommend a shooting clinic before reattempting or if assessor identifies small correction and chooses to educate / coach, the shooter may re-attempt qualifying.
- Upon successful qualification the shooter will receive their certification card and key.
- Required Equipment / D.O.P.E
- Dialable turrets on scope – or –
- Scope with known holdover reticle (applies to first focal and second focal plane scopes) – or –
- Adjustable Iron sights (High Power Shooter)
- Ballistic Data or Ballistic App (Must know how use app calculations).
- Known muzzle velocity – (Published velocity on factory ammo is not acceptable)
- NO Red Dot optics
- Rifle caliber cartridges only the Long Range.
- Maximum .30 caliber permitted.
- 3200 fps maximum velocity permitted
- Pistol caliber cartridges in any platform may not be used on the Long Range
The established shooting distances are:
- 100yds Zero Confirmation Target Board
- 400yds – Steel and Target Board
- 500 yds – Steel
- 600 yds – Steel and Target Board
- 850 yds – Steel
- 925 yds – Steel
- 1000yds – Steel and Target Board
