This competition is designed for shooters of all skill levels. The AR15 rifle style is owned by millions of Americans.
Its purpose is to challenge your marksmanship skills, increasing familiarity with your rifle, its safe handling, and the immediate resolving of failures when they happen (and they will!)
Importantly, to improve marksmanship, not from a steady bench and a deliberately slow fire which is the usual way targets are hit, but from different, dynamic stages more like ones used in real life.
Most assuredly, your skill level will improve, a lot!

The schedule and specs for the ARAR match are:

1. Calendar of the ARAR for 2024 is:

March 17
April 14
May 19
June 9
July 14
August 11

2. The competition consists of 8 stages, 4 positions, and 72 rounds fired.
3. Any type of sight is permitted: iron, optics no magnification, and optics with magnification.
4. The targets are at distances of 100, 50, 25, and 7 yards.
5. First shot at 9:00 a.m. until finished.
6. The bullseye is a 6” hexagon at all distances.
7. Cost to competitor is $10 (Non-member’s fee is $20.00)
8. There is no drinking water, food, or ammo at the range.

Suggested equipment for the match

The following is a recommended list of things to bring for the match.
You may add those items that you think you will need.

1. AR style rifle with tactical sling to carry the gun hanging from your shoulder (optional).
2. 72 rounds for score (more JIC).
3. 5 magazines of 10 rounds each (but you can manage with only 2 magazines).
4. Empty chamber flag.
5. Ear and eye protection.
6. Pockets or handbag to carry ammo + magazines + spent brass + …
7. Optional mat to lie/sit/kneel on the ground.
8. Rifle bipod (optional).
9. There is no water, food, ammo at the range.
10.  Enthusiastic, positive, sparkling sportsmanship.
