The AR15 rifle style is owned by millions of Americans.\nIts purpose is to challenge your marksmanship skills\, increasing familiarity with your rifle\, its safe handling\, and the immediate resolving of failures when they happen (and they will!)\nImportantly\, to improve marksmanship\, not from a steady bench and a deliberately slow fire which is the usual way targets are hit\, but from different\, dynamic stages more like ones used in real life.\nMost assuredly\, your skill level will improve\, a lot! \nThe schedule and specs for the ARAR match are: \n\nCalendar of the ARAR for 2024 is:\n\nMarch 17\nApril 14\nMay 19\nJune 9\nJuly 14\nAugust 11 \n\nThe competition consists of 8 stages\, 4 positions\, and 72 rounds fired.\nAny type of sight is permitted: iron\, optics no magnification\, and optics with magnification.\nThe targets are at distances of 100\, 50\, 25\, and 7 yards.\nFirst shot at 9:00 a.m. until finished.\nThe bullseye is a 6” hexagon at all distances.\nCost to competitor is $10 (Non-member’s fee is $20.00)\nThere is no drinking water\, food\, or ammo at the range.\n\nSuggested equipment for the match \nThe following is a recommended list of things to bring for the match.\nYou may add those items that you think you will need. \n\nAR style rifle with tactical sling to carry the gun hanging from your shoulder (optional).\n72 rounds for score (more JIC).\n5 magazines of 10 rounds each (but you can manage with only 2 magazines).\nEmpty chamber flag.\nEar and eye protection.\nPockets or handbag to carry ammo + magazines + spent brass + …\nOptional mat to lie/sit/kneel on the ground.\nRifle bipod (optional).\nThere is no water\, food\, ammo at the range.\n Enthusiastic\, positive\, sparkling sportsmanship.\n\n\nWe hope to see you all there. \nFor queries email\nAR15AmericanMatch@yahoo.com
